What is Mass Storage & Enterprise Cloud Drive?

2024/10/09   Fileshow News

In the era of big data, data sharing and the storage of massive amounts of data are key challenges we face. "Cloud drive" is a product of this era, and an enterprise cloud drive is specifically designed for businesses and government users. Through unique security technologies and blockchain technology, it provides secure data storage, supports automatic synchronization across multiple platforms and devices, and enables sharing, external links, collaborative online office work, team spaces, and more. This ultimately improves the efficiency of various departments within enterprises and governments, solves the problem of managing their data assets, and enhances the commercial value of their customers' data.

Cloud drives are an application under cloud storage systems, and cloud storage itself is an application developed from cloud computing technology. The core of cloud storage is the storage and management of data, and it allocates massive storage space based on cloud computing systems. With the support of technologies like cluster systems, grid technology, and distributed file systems, cloud storage systems can enable large-scale storage devices to collaborate across regions, providing services together. The existence of various application programming interfaces (APIs) in cloud storage systems allows developers to extend the range of services provided by cloud storage through the development of different applications. Currently, cloud storage systems primarily offer three types of services: cloud drives, space rental services, and remote backup and disaster recovery.

Compared to traditional physical disks, cloud drives are more convenient. Users do not need to carry physical disks with important data but can easily access their stored information from the cloud via the internet. This makes cloud drives more convenient and eliminates the worry of losing or damaging a physical disk, which could result in data loss.

As for cloud drives, their security advantages are as follows:

1. Plaintext keys are not stored in the cloud, so even if the database is breached, it is ineffective; each file is encrypted with a different key, so all users’ document keys are unique.

2. Deduplication is still possible after encryption, saving storage space; encryption and decryption are completed locally, with no plaintext data transmitted over the network.

3. System administrators can only maintain the system and personnel but cannot view the contents of files stored in the system.

4. When shared individuals delete files within the shared space, the files are moved to the sharer’s recycle bin, protecting the document owner’s data security.

5. When files in the enterprise space are deleted, they enter the enterprise administrator/archivist’s recycle bin, preventing regular employees from permanently deleting them, which helps protect company documents.

6. When previewing documents, the system automatically adds a watermark containing the current user's name, username, and time to the document, ensuring accountability in case of malicious sharing through photos, downloads, or screenshots.

7. Role-based permissions allow effective control over document usage, further enhancing security.

8. Users can choose roles for shared individuals when sharing documents, controlling their access rights to the documents. The roles' permissions are uniformly configured by the administrator, with multiple roles available.

9. The system logs all file operations by regular users, maintaining a complete file lifecycle. Detailed records of administrator actions on the system cannot be deleted or modified, ensuring ease of monitoring and auditing.

10. Real-time statistics are kept on external document links, strictly controlling the security of shared documents and preventing the leakage of company secrets.

11. Users can synchronize any cloud folder with local folders; this ensures local files are backed up to the cloud in a timely manner while staying up-to-date with any changes made to files in the cloud.

Fileshow is a team collaboration-based file management platform and mobile office system based on cloud storage. It is an efficient enterprise file collaboration management platform. Team members can synchronize and share files, communicate instantly, and work remotely, enabling efficient team operations.
